I was expecting the typical Indian leather and poor quality, in all honesty, but was astonished when the smell of finest Sedgewicks British bridle butt wafted out of the box, and was absolutely amazed at the quality of the workmanship! I decided there and then that we would develop my range of leather treed saddles with Horsekraft. I had no time to go to India to work on the research and development, as I was looking after my Father and Stepmother at the time, in the end stages of their lives, as well as running two equestrian businesses. That we managed to develop the saddle entirely with the aid of Skype, is nothing short of a miracle! But also is testimony to the skill and inventiveness of Rish and his team. Yes we had our problems, as with all new products, but now, eleven years down the line, and with a number of incarnations of the saddle, improving design and quality all the time, I am proud to say that at this year’s BETA trade fair, many friends from the saddlery trade, were in disbelief that the saddles were manufactured in India! Using only the finest European hides and materials which we import to India, I can truly say that when Rishahb and Paul won the highly commended award at the show, the first Indian company to do so to our knowledge, I was bursting with pride also!! Rish and his wife Reena, have become as members of our family here in England!!"
